Drew and I love the outdoors. We enjoy hiking, biking, exercising, playing sports, geo-caching, snowboarding (I know, you can't do that in Texas), and so much more. It has been quite a while since we had the opportunity to do that. First, this summer was dreadfully hot. Then, cancer struck. Strangely, as my chemo treatment is approaching the end, I am beginning to feel better. I have been told all along that the treatments build on one another and most people feel worse as they progress. Perhaps it is because I am eating so much more nutritiously and really paying close attention to good hygiene/cleanliness, but I am feeling so much better. The mornings are usually great for me. I try to cram so much into the mornings since I feel great. Then, the afternoon/evening hits and I am wiped out. But, still it is not too bad considering I am undergoing chemotherapy. Because I know my mornings are best, I can plan activities for those times.
So, this Saturday morning, I am planning a fun adventure for our family. It will include some hiking in some absolutely gorgeous nearby parks and probably even some geo-caching. Luke is getting older and may begin to appreciate it now. I am also anxious to use our bike trailer again, since Abbey is now one year old and can ride in it along with Luke. So, we will have fun biking adventures on the nearby trails in the weeks to come also.
Here are some photos of some of our memorable past adventures hiking:
